Lori Weitzner credits a professor at university with redirecting her away from fine arts and toward textiles, where, to her surprise, she discovered the beauty and complexity of working with the materials that embellish our everyday lives and elevate our spirits. Examples of her work are housed in the permanent collections of museums such as the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Montreal, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Cooper Hewitt Museum in New York City. Her innovative design techniques and use of surprising and beautiful environmentally-conscious materials have garnered her multiple design awards, including a nomination for the Chrysler Innovation Award.
